Our Story: Inspired by Nature, Fueled by History

The inspiration behind Jamestown Candle Works stems from a love of both nature and history. Our founder has always been captivated by the rich past of Jamestown, a historic town that played a pivotal role during the California Gold Rush. After many years working in healthcare, she decided to combine her passion for the outdoors and crafting into a new venture. 

Moving from Washington State to the Sierra Foothills to be closer to family, she started making candles in February 2024. This area’s stunning mountains, lakes, and forests inspired our collection of candles, each designed to evoke the serenity and beauty of the natural world. What makes us even more unique is our upcoming historical line of candles, which pay homage to local landmarks. From the haunted National Hotel to the famous Sierra #3 steam engine, these candles will bring the stories of Jamestown’s past into your home with beautifully crafted fragrances. Our goal is to not only provide you with high-quality, handcrafted products but also to spark an appreciation for the rich history that surrounds this small gold rush town.
